Beyond the plate: Female Leaders and Entrepreneurs Event by Propel 2025 - Diary Entry No.3
London, June 2025
Usually our 'Food Diaries' are all about diving forks-first into the incredible menus of our customers. But today, we're taking a slightly different spin! While there might have been some delicious coffee and maybe a pastry or two involved, this entry is less about what was on the pass and more about the incredible energy that was in the room.
Last week, we swapped our usual restaurant visits for a truly inspiring day at the Female Leaders and Entrepreneurs Conference, hosted by Propel Info in London and brilliantly put together by Ann Elliott and Shereen Ritchie. It was an absolute powerhouse of inspiration!
What an incredible collection of brilliant women all in one room. Every single speaker was exceptional, sharing their stories, their vulnerabilities, and their experiences with such honesty. It’s not often you walk away from an event feeling truly, deeply inspired, but this one left us with a definite fire in our bellies!
From an incredible opener by Carol Campbell from the Stonegate Group, who reminded us to discover our unique superpowers rather than trying to mold ourselves, to compelling stories from MDs like Lucy Knowles (No1 Lounges Ltd) and Kate Eastwood (The Cosy Club), the day was fantastically curated. They shared some truly great takeaways:
💥 As women in hospitality, it's your duty and responsibility to cheerlead others.
💥 Don't wait for perfection and get comfortable with not knowing everything.
💥 Confidence isn't static – it changes as you move through life.
💥 Be determined and dare to dream.
💥 If you're not having fun, don't do it.
It's always amazing to connect with so many friendly faces and hear such powerful insights. A huge shout-out to Ann Elliott and Shereen Ritchie for orchestrating such a genuinely impactful day. These are the kinds of events that really fuel the passion for hospitality, reminding us all why we love this industry!
